Installing Drupal Using Drush

Hi All,

Welcome to my blog, and to the world of Drupal and Opensource.

Let me share you my experience of installing Drupal using Drush.

Drush is preety awesome command line tool for Drupal developers.

 

 If you haven't already installed Drush check http://drupal.org/project/drush

One of the great features of Drush for Drupal 7 is you can do a brand new site install with two simple commands. First setup a MySQL user and database, and note the username and password.

Then run the following, making sure to replace the user and passwords names for your local setup:

drush dl drupal-7.x
drush site-install standard --account-name=admin --account-pass=admin --db-url=mysql://YourMySQLUser:RandomPassword@localhost/YourMySQLDatabase

And boooooom, the script runs and you're done.

If you want some specific version then you can try out  like:

drush dl drupal-7.2 which will give specific version while as drush dl drupal-7.x will give you the latest stable version of Drupal 7

*Note: The Drupal username and password seemed to always end up as admin/admin no matter what I set them to. So, I suggest just using those and then changing them after you login to your new site.

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web smart so I'm not 100% positive. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Appreciate it

I'm not sure why but this website is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I'll сheck back
later on and see if the ρroblem stіll eхists.

Possible reason could be the update of DrupalGardens platfom. You might be knowing my blog is hosted on Drupal Gardens, so they might be updating or some time it runs slow for me too..

Hi there would you mind stating which blog platform you're working with? I'm going to start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique.

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your
articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything.

Nevertheless think of if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more,
"pop"! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this blog
could certainly be one of the best in its field.
